Consciousness. What is this and how do we get there? Is that a state that we can get directions to with GPS?
Consciousness is explored at our deepest self, and we become totally aware of all that is around us and within us. By examining our breath, and becoming aware of how we react and what reacts to us is key to our consciousness.
By reacting to others, we are acting off of our fears and we are not allowing our pure self to merely observe. We have to be witnesses to what is there, and not place judgment reactions that may only be fleeting.
By not immediately reacting to a situation, you can simply observe and learn from the situation. Observing is a learning process that will allow us to become better communicators. To be able to observe and not judge is to completely surrender your superficial ego. Our ego always stands in the way of our truthful and spiritual side.
How can we do this? Focus on your breath and repeat a mantra. You may also just listen and stay with your breath. Follow it. Make yourself one with your situation without making yourself part of the situation.
Breathe in, Breathe out.....Breathe in and breathe out. Continue....and repeat.
Pay attention to the rise and fall of your chest as your breathe. Feel your inhalation through your nose.
Are you there yet?
Give yourself time and be patient. If you become judgmental and critical, tell your ego to get out.
